The Fire Kills campaign is reminding people to stay safe this Christmas and not let a potential fire ruin their festive celebrations. Christmas trees, decorations and stray wrapping paper can act as a fuel for fires caused by overloaded sockets, fairy lights and candles so Fire Kills have come up with some top tips to stay safe this Christmas.
The Carbon Monoxide Hotspot Report 2011, published by the Gas Safety Trust, reveals a rise in the number of fatalities resulting from carbon monoxide (CO) poisoning since 2010.
Senior fire officers from the North Wales Fire and Rescue Service are appealing to the public to recognise the importance of having a working smoke alarm fitted in their homes following the inquest into the death of a man who died in a fire in Llandudno earlier this year.
