Aico Ltd have launched a brand new range of cost-effective carbon monoxide (CO) detectors to encourage households to be aware and be safe.

The low cost, lithium battery operated detector has been designed with a tamper proof battery unit so batteries cannot be removed and used in other applicances. With a sleeker, smaller design, the detectors will fit in with all environments which will make it easier for installers to specify the device as part of an alarm system along with its simple twist on mounting base offering numerous fixing options for ceiling or wall mounting.

The detectors are available in three different models: standard, premium with digital display and RadioLINK Professional. All detectors react to dangerous levels of CO by sounding an alarm and a red light will flash at a rate relevant to the level detected. The premium model includes a larger digital display with more detailed information including CO level and status messages.

RadioLINK Professional allows AICO fire and CO detectors to interact wirelessly so when one unit is activated, all interconnected detectors will sound, alerting everyone in a property. A RadioLINK plug-in module can be added to the standard or professional model to upgrade it to a RadioLINK Professional detector.

Michael Wright, Aico Product Manager says that they hope the launch of this new range will help UK homes become aware of the risks caused by carbon monoxide, the silent killer, and expand the market as "they can be installed by heating and ventilation installers, plumbers, builders etc, as well as electricians.
