Emergency lighting provides a building with a light in the event of a power failure. The purpose of the emergency lights are:

Emergency lights are available in a Maintained and Non-Maintained version. Maintained emergency lights can be set to be constantly 'On' and the Non-Maintained only turns 'On' in the event of a power failure

Recommended Placements of Emergency Lights

At Each Fire Door
All Safety Exit Signs
Outside and near each final exit
Near Stairs so that each tread receives direct light
At Each change of Direction
At each intersection of corridor
Near each piece of fire fighting equipment and Call Point
Changes in Floor Levels
